Greater than Solomon Here
Precious Wisdom of the Lord Jesus

At the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and there is something greater than Solomon here. (Matthew 12:42)

Knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been granted to you (Matthew 13:11)

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea,
which collects fish of every kind.
When it is full they haul it ashore
and sit down to put what is good into buckets.
What is bad they throw away.
Thus it will be at the end of the age [the day of judgment].
The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous
and throw them into the fiery furnace,
where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. (Today’s Gospel — see below)

Today’s Prayer

We have come to know you better and better, Lord our God. We have come to know that life without you is impossible. Without you nothing is worthwhile, nothing holy. It is in you that we find hope. We also know now you are the only God who can really protect us in our struggles of life, the only God in whom we can take refuge because you never desert those who love you in return. It is our prayer that you never cease to rule our lives and guide us in your ways so that under the present transitory conditions we may use wisely the things of earth so as not to lose what lasts forever.
