Advent IV — Glad Tidings to Mary
Categories: Daily Banner Tweet
All the Masses this week will be Christmas Masses so that, if you consider it safe and possible for you, you can fulfill your duty to worship God with the Church community for Christmas at any one of them. Each will include the Blessing of the Crib, Christmas scriptures, Christmas homilies, Christmas Carols, Christmas prayers. This will make it possible to accommodate everyone during this time of restricted seating capacity and Covid-19 regulations. The Christmas Mystery is not limited to any one particular day of the week. Everyone in some way, whether at church or at home, can give praise and thanksgiving to God for sending us his Son as our Savior.

During these holy days increase your favor and grace within our hearts, Lord our God, as you speak to us through your angel telling the good news that your Son whom you love will be made flesh and live in our midst bringing us your covenant love. That same covenant love impelled him to undergo his passion and the cross on his way to risen glory which you gave him and promised in your covenant to us.
Our response today to the word of God — God’s Covenant Promise
PS 89:2-3, 4-5, 27, 29
- (2a) For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
The promises of the LORD I will sing forever;
through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness.
For you have said, “My kindness is established forever”;
in heaven you have confirmed your faithfulness.
“I have made a covenant with my chosen one,
I have sworn to David my servant:
Forever will I confirm your posterity
and establish your throne for all generations.”
“He shall say of me, ‘You are my father,
my God, the Rock, my savior.’
Forever I will maintain my kindness toward him,
and my covenant with him stands firm.”
For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord.
